In case you didn’t know, today is National Tequila Day.
Now, my preferred method for ingesting Tequila is in a margarita.
On a beach.
Unfortunately I have to work today and am no where near a beach (okay, that’s not completely true…but see “work today” and it’s like I’m no where near a beach!)
So, if you’re so inclined, head out this evening and celebrate!
I most certainly did not forget that it’s Thankful Thursday. And even on a plane there’s TONS to be thankful for. And, okay, so today I just stole the title for this post
Today I’m most thankful that I am on my way to add more Magical Miles to my total for this year. I’m a lot slower this year than I’ve been in a long time but I know that as long as I keep working things will fall back into place and I’ll only be ‘not fast’ 🙂
I’m really thankful that I finished packing and got out of the house in time this morning!!
I’m thankful also for the social media outlets that have ‘introduced’ me to so many FANTASTIC people and I’m really thankful that I’ll get to meet some of them this weekend.
There’s a LOT more I’m thankful for today. Just know that if you’ve touched my life in any way at all, that I’m very thankful for you!!
Go out and tell a random Thank You. You’ll make someone’s day!!
So, yeah…this song was in my head all week. Why? Well, I’ll tell ya why
Last night was the final HMF X-Treme Scramble and this month’s theme was “Disco”. The general idea of these Thursday evening, after-work weekend kick-off runs is that the course is never the same as last month and you never know what you’re getting into until you’re well into it
This one was a pretty straight-forward course – head north along the river, past the boathouse, through the woods and back. Easy peasy. No stairs, no hills, no bridges. A great course and some decent weather. We missed out on the expected storms/rain and there was a nice breeze.
I decided this time to stick with my intervals and NOT half-ass it like usual “Oh, this is uphill and I should be running but I’ll walk and just tack it on to my next run interval…” and so on 🙂 And, amazingly, knocked about 3 minutes off of my last 5K so, lesson learned.
What I wish I looked like doing my intervals up the hills…
What I felt like after running my intervals up hills…
Post race, talked to a PT that was on-site about a pain I’ve been having, he poked my butt a little and showed me how week my glute muscle is. Suggested squats and that sort of strengthening to help things out. Glad I took the 10 minutes to talk to him for sure.
Grabbed my Harpoon UFO and my burrito from Moe’s – and headed up the stairs to find a seat and enjoy dinner!
As always, the Hartford Marathon Foundation did an excellent job with the series and everyone had a great time this summer! I’m pretty thrilled that I FINALLY managed to do ALL THREE events! Usually I miss out on at least one!
Up next – the Old Wethersfield 10K (At least, I think I registered for the 10K, it might just be a 5K!)
Have a super great weekend ya’ll – and get out and enjoy the sun!!
Thankful Thursday is back again! Yeah, I’m sticking with it cause, well, it’s easy and almost stretches the limits of my creativity 😉
And, oddly enough, today I’m thankful for my job. Turns out I really need to stop bitching cause my boss has said she will basically keep me on until I find a “good opportunity”. And she’ll give me an “excellent” recommendation…so…I will not be thrown to the wolves and can go to my Disneyland!!!! trip and really enjoy myself – for that I am really very thankful!!
Disneyland in 7 days!!! Yeah…the badge says 9…I’m goin’ early to play!!
