New-ish Month, New Challenges

So we’re now into June and summer seems to really be coming in with no hesitation!!

That means, running needs to be done pretty darn early! And, of course this is when I really need to kick my training into gear — time is ticking away and I know that the Marine Corps Marathon will be here before I know it! Followed way too closely by my #Dopey15 runDisney challenge…and even more.

I do have a couple of race recaps and vacations to recap this weekend so I can be caught up too!

But, first, ya’ll know I was doing a couple of DietBets last month and I managed to squeak by and win them both (with a pound or two to spare). I turned around and put the winnings from my first win (don’t know what I won from the second yet!) into 2 more for this month!

And I have to tell you people….it was a little more stressful than I thought it would be but those last couple of days were definitely motivation to keep it going more consistently this time around.

And I’m also repeating my wall sit/plank/arm challenge from May since I fell off of that wagon around the 23rd…and I can say that I’m good for 5 days!!

And, important culture note: Tomorrow is National Donut Day — so head out and get some round goodness in your belly! A group of my friends have organized a virtual “Donut Run” — so I’ll head to my local Dunkin Donuts in the morning (before the dentist of course!) on foot, and grab some nom and run back home!

So, last week my internets went out…line was cut. Couldn’t blame AT&T! Awkward day at work!

But I’m back!! And I have a lot of catching up to do…but first, and most important

And I seem to be at a standstill. It’s kind of depressing. Really, it is!!

Seriously…this marathon is just the first in three that I’ll be running in the next 11 months. Surely that is worth a couple of bucks!

And, do I even need to tell you what an amazing cause this is – and the great people it has brought into my life?

Plus, remember that if you donate at least 25 dollars in May, you’ll get this cool mudLove bracelet (or the mudLove of your choice though, really this is the best one for this!)

Planning…Always Planning…

Hoping that I am able to put this weekend’s aches and pains behind me this week so that I can get on with gettin’ on!!

Part of why I wanted to start blogging was to 1. Record my 2013 runDisney adventure (which, it’s coming…really it is!!) and B. to have some accountability working towards my training/healthy eating goals. I figure if I put it out there, and a few people see it, then I can’t keep coming back on Saturday night with all the reasons why I sat on my butt all week or ate that bag of jelly beans/box of cookies (which, I wouldn’t do, but there *is* some junk eating happening every now and then!)

So starting with this week, I’ll be posting my weekly workout plans/goals in the hope that throwing it out there will make it more embarrassing to skip when I plan to report out on Monday morning!

I am committed to not only running the Marine Corps Marathon in October and the Dopey Challenge in January, but I am committed to enjoying myself and finishing STRONG. And it’s going to take a lot of work to get there. So I need to resolve these issues with my leg(s) and get going!

Otherwise, the chances of me becoming one with my couch are far too great!!
