It’s Back!!!!
But, I still have tons to catch up on…top of the list of course is the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend — including #DumboDoubleDare!
Until then though….”Make every minute count, jump up, jump in and seize the day!”

I love Sunday. Not really because it’s Monday-Eve so much, but just all by itself!
Most of the time, it’s a day to do things around the house – for me that usually means it’s a day to mow the lawn! Which I love doing, so that’s not bad at all!
Today is really no different. I have an 11 mile training run to get in first thing though, before doing anything else.
And, there’s the grocery shopping and the meal and workout planning for the week and the ironing for the week and the general overall getting ready for the week.
And when it’s all over there’s the hot shower, the clean jammies and maybe a glass of wine before bed.
In two weeks, I’ll be working my way through the #DumboDoubleDare (or, as I’ve grown to love calling it the #DumboDoubleDate – thank you typos!) The Disneyland Half Marathon weekend this year introduces a 10 K on Saturday and a Half Marathon on Sunday! I’m starting to hit the peak of anticipatory excitement – this week will be spent beginning to pack and I can’t wait!
But first — I have some grass to cut and some miles to cover!!
Happy Sunday!! Make it a great one!
The Dumbo Double Dare is 80 Days away!! Eighty Days! 12 weeks out.
To get ready I am following the Hal Higdon Intermediate Half Marathon Training Program – Today was a rest day!! Woot!! The real work starts tomorrow and I am really very eager to wake up at 4:30 tomorrow and get out there. In the rain, probably. But I’m really super excited!!
Part of my cross-training will be getting back into the Hot Room at my Bikram studio – this will help keep me stretched out and hopefully keep me from getting injured! And the schedule works pretty well with races that I’ve already registered for so that’s some additional incentive.
And, in case you weren’t one of the lucky ones who got into the runDisney Princess Half Marathon or the Glass Slipper Challenge through pre-registration, full registration opens tomorrow for the remaining spots!
A great way to be prepared is to set up an account at Active.com if you don’t already have one – this way, all your personal information will fill in automatically.
Also, your bib for Princess is themed to one of the Disney Princesses so you might want to start thinking about who you’re gonna rep on race day!
And, if you are still not completely convinced that this is the kind of fun you like, watch Julie’s video – from Run.Walk.FASTPASS.Repeat – then tell me this doesn’t look like a really great time!!
So get ready to get your tiara and glitter on!!! It’s a weekend you’ll never forget!!
Oh yeah, that’s right — I did it! Or, I will do it!! Again 🙂
This year, our friends at runDisney have upped the ante for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend. In 2014 Princessess (Princessi?) from around the world will have the opportunity to FINALLY get that Glass Slipper! The Glass Slipper Challenge consists of doing a 10K run on Saturday and the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday. And of course there’s the Family 5K on Friday morning — so a great big weekend of sparkly fun!!
Chances are this will be my only runDisney weekend next year (unless I maybe….possibly…maybe think of doing Wine and Dine Half Marathon since it WILL be the 5th Anniversary — and who doesn’t love a little Anniversary Bling! But I digress 🙂
Early registration opened today for the Princess Half Weekend — if you’re an Annual Passholder (which I am this year!) or a DVC Member (which I am not…but my brother is!) you get a little head start on registering. After the super quick sellout of the Dumbo Double Dare at the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend earlier this year, mainly due to pre-sales and early registrations, runDisney is limiting the number of entries available to those able to register early. This makes it much more fair for everyone right?!
So, this afternoon I took my Annual Passholder self out to the interwebs and registered for the Glass Slipper Challenge and the Family 5K – may as well make the trip worth it right?!!
Hopefully my Fairy Godmothers can give me a hand in making this a really magical weekend!!
