On Sunday I’ll be running the Marine Corps Marathon for the 4th time (2005, 2009 and 2011 were my previous adventures!). As you know, I’m slow. But I have always crossed the finish line of this one. Which means that I have always “Beat the Bridge” — That means that I got to Mile 20 in the allotted time, before the city reopens the 14th Street bridge.
So I know I can do it. I’ve done it before with much less advance preparation (read – Training! :)) I have never been put on this bus….
and hauled to the finish line.
This year, I’m worried. Maybe it’s because everywhere I look people are talking about it. I’m a lot more active on Social Media than in any of the previous years so I see so many more people worrying this out…
But I know I can do it!
But I’m still worried.
To alleviate some of my worries, I’m studying the map….
And the elevation profile
Which, hey…not so bad, right?
.Also for the first time EVER – I am having my 10K splits posted on the Facebook – support encouraged and welcome!!
So…Let’s go get this done!

I’ll send good vibes! Block out of the doubtful nonsense and know that after you finish those first few miles, it’s all literally smooth sailing. (That’s a horrible sign on the bus! Can’t they come up with something more empowering? Everyone did get out there and try after all!)
