Okay, I’m doing my week 15 #Dopey15 recap a couple of days early because, well, it’s ugly ya’ll….
I kind of had an “excuse” last week, what with being at Disney and all…so what is my excuse this week?
Ain’t got one! Not at all.
And it’s bad folks! I have 3 events in the next 3 weeks. The problem isn’t that I don’t think I’ll finish. I know I can do the miles. But…I had higher hopes for myself.
So let’s get to it:
The Higdon plan for the week was:
Tuesday – 3 miles
Wednesday – 6 miles
Thursday – 3 miles
Saturday – 5 miles
Sunday – 15 miles
Let’s see where I am with 3 days left in the week:
Tuesday – did not do my 3. Did not go to Bikram. Why? Tired? Recovering from vacation?
Wednesday – Didn’t want to, but did 6.2!! Yay!! A 10K!
Thursday – Um…again…nothing
Here we are at Friday – I am registered for a 1 mile run this evening. A shake out event for tomorrow’s Hartford NU Marathon/Half Marathon. And since I have to go into Hartford to pick up my packet I’m actually going to do this! And depending on how my work day goes, I might break out mid-day to get one of my missed runs in.
Tomorrow is the Hartford Half Marathon – and let me tell you something. It’s supposed to be rainy in the morning. And chilly. And I can guarantee that if I weren’t registered for the event I’d fight with myself all morning to get out and run. So I’ll get 13 in tomorrow for sure.
Sunday’s 5 should turn into 7, so I can get the more missing miles in…

And, my Friday advice to you? Don’t be like me 🙂 Do your training!

You can do it! Use this half marathon to re-up your dedication to your training, and just get it done in the upcoming weeks =)
That’s my hope/thought/wish!! I’m gonna just go tonight and enjoy the miler and use tomorrow as a training run — no time worries (other than getting kicked off of the street!!)
