And, honestly, not because it was that great. Mainly because it wasn’t that great! Well, it was okay but my heart wasn’t in it. So let’s just get this over with so we can get on to the good stuff!
The Galloway plan for the week called for
Tuesday 45 minute run/walk
Thursday 45 minute run/walk
Saturday 3 miles
What actually happened:
If you recall, I pulled/popped something when I set out on my run on Sunday and on Tuesday morning that area was still pretty tender so…
Tuesday — Workout not done. No miles.
Thursday — 5K at the riverfront in Hartford. But slow mostly walk-y without paying attention to my intervals
Friday — What?! There was no run planned for Friday! But, I had been “talking” with friends about their intervals and a lot of people do much shorter ones that I was doing. Like, 40:20 compared to my 2:1 (they are doing seconds, I am doing minutes!) so I wanted to try out the shorter interval and see how that went. So I did about 2 miles of 30:30 intervals. The time definitely went by quickly, and I’m going to have to play with this more.
After my Friday run, I went out and donated blood before sitting down to work. Then headed out of town for the weekend. Which means:
Saturday — No run. Lazy day 🙂
Sunday — I did Saturday’s 3 miles! Hah! Went out with my friend Jenn and we did 1:1 intervals. Kept up a decent pace too considering it was her first run in a long time, though I attribute my “faster” pace to her long legs and needing to keep up!!
So it wasn’t the awful week I thought it was, but I really wasn’t completely motivated and probably would have skipped Sunday if I’d been home alone! On top of the running we *did* do a LOT of walking at Hershey Park on Sunday and Monday so….there’s that!!
Hope your training week went well and that you’re sticking with your goals! I’m back on that this week too!!
Well way better tahn my week..I am so happy school is back on next week and I am back to MY schedule during the day. Nice job.
